Ada Norris DVM

Dr. Ada Norris joined Silver Creek in 2016 after earning her DVM from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Ada has spent a lifetime volunteering in shelters and tending to bedraggled critters, though she did not find her way to veterinary school until after completing a PhD in American literature from Duke University, a stint as a first responder ambulance driver in Portland, and training in wilderness emergency medicine while living at Yosemite.

Ada is specially qualified to find poetry in the everyday practice of veterinary medicine and loves working with the wide range of Willamette Valley dogs, cats, horses, hamsters, alpacas, rabbits, chickens and donkeys that make our community so special. Clinically, her interests lie in optimizing health and well-being for this wide range of animals and the families who depend on them by making the highest possible quality medicine and surgery available & accessible to her patients.

When not at work she can be found volunteering as a surgeon with the Feral Cat Coalition in Portland, riding her bicycle, or adventuring in the wilderness with her wife Melina and their rescued one-eyed chihuahua, preferably in a spot with a good swimming hole or hot spring.
