Educational Outreach Programs
At Silver Creek Animal Clinic, we believe that veterinary education extends beyond the typical doctor-client relationship. We invest our time and resources to reach out to kids and students of all ages, increasing their knowledge of veterinary care, and helping some make career decisions in the following ways:
Provide speakers or Hospital Tours to pre-school age children
Provide speakers to the local schools for veterinary care research and/or career exploration
Operate weeklong Veterinary Camps in July and August in our hospital through the Silver Falls Family YMCA - call (503) 873-0205 for more information
Partner with Health Occupations classes at Silverton High School and JFK High School in Mt. Angel, providing recurring observational opportunities
Partner with Silverton High School's Structured Work Experience program, placing students in job environments during their senior year
Partner with Canyonview Camp to provide externships for students in their equine program
Partner with Oregon State University's College of Veterinary Medicine to provide externships and other opportunities to future veterinarians.
